Sewing Machinist (Kickstart Scheme)

Job description:
We are looking for individuals to work in our rucksack manufacturing workshop, where we manufacture high quality equipment for climbers, mountaineers and hill walkers. You will be part of a small team of sewing machinists. Training will be provided as part of the job and this is a great opportunity for someone who has an interest in the outdoors as well as a passion for making and creating things. Roles will involve all aspects in the assembly of rucksacks and other outdoor equipment, including sewing, marking fabrics and quality control. Successful applicants will also be given the opportunity to develop and use additional skills used in the business daily, such as social media marketing, customer service, IT skills and more.

Previous experience using a sewing machine is beneficial, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Essential skills and requirements:
Individuals will need to have a good work ethic and the ability to work to deadlines, as well as a great attention to detail.

Working hours:
25 hours.

Hourly rate of pay:
National Minimum Wage
